CBC alumni perspective: Don Miller

Name:  Don Miller

Graduation Year:  1982

Major: Bible

Current Position:  District Superintendent

Tell us about your career and what you do now.

I lead the District Team as we provide resources, relationship, and lead the way to spiritual renewal for our 1,500+ ministers and 360 churches.

What is your favorite memory from CBC?

I enjoyed the fellowship with the other students and the chapel services.

How did CBC help you identify/develop your calling?

CBC exposed me to a vast group of quality ministers who spoke into my life. The classes helped me to shape my biblical and leadership knowledge. It helped me to solidify God’s call in my life.

How did your experience at CBC prepare you for life after graduation?

As Dr. Harris used to say, CBC didn’t teach me everything I needed to know. Instead, I learned how to learn!

What advice would you give a current student preparing for the workforce?

Establish quality habits of discipline. Learn to determine your values. Determine your long-term goals based on your values and then create a strategy to reach them. Learn to make every day count with time management skills to make the most of every day. And, of course, take the best care of the people you will take with you if you move! Put God first, then family, THEN vocation.

What would you look for if you were in a position to hire a new graduate?

I would look for a passion for life, quality spiritual depth, and a desire to learn.
