EU Admission: 5 application myths, busted
Myth #1: I can’t visit Evangel’s campus.
FALSE. You absolutely can visit Evangel’s campus – in fact, we highly encourage it! We have official college visit days that we call EU College Days. These visit days allow you to get a glimpse of the campus through a campus tour, meet with faculty and staff and possibly sit in on class, as well as the option to stay overnight in a residence hall with one of our amazing student hosts. We’ve got four more EU College Days in the 2018 Spring semester, so it’s not too late to get registered. But if these dates don’t work, no worries! You can still register for a weekday visit where you can still see the campus on a campus tour and have the chance to speak with your admissions counselor.

Myth #2: I have to have a 4.0 GPA in college to be accepted into Evangel.
FALSE. While a 4.0 GPA is great, it is by no means necessary to be accepted into Evangel University. In fact, to apply to Evangel you need a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA (2.0 GPA for a transfer student) and a 20 ACT or 1030 SAT. Don’t worry too much, though, if your GPA is below 2.5. We’d encourage you to go ahead and apply and based on a comprehensive review of your application, you may be considered for probational admissions.
Myth #3: The admissions process is too much to hassle with.
FALSE. Evangel University’s admissions process is just a simple, six-step process – it couldn’t be any easier!
Step 1: Complete the application.
Step 2: Submit your transcript(s).
Step 3: Share your test scores (ACT/SAT).
Step 4: Complete financial information.
Step 5: Complete housing (after acceptance).
Step 6: Complete health requirements.

Myth #4: I have to pay for my education at Evangel University completely out of my pocket.
FALSE. As one of the most affordable Christian universities in the nation, Evangel strives to provide the best possible academic experience at a reasonable cost. Just by applying to Evangel, you will be offered a scholarship based on your previous academic performance. Also, by submitting your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), we will notify you of other financial aid options to help aid the costs – such as grants. As well as these things, we also have various work-study positions throughout campus departments that will allow you to work and make some extra money that can be put towards your education costs.

Myth #5: I can only apply to Evangel University by mail.
FALSE. We have an online application process available that won’t take any time at all to complete. All you need to do is:
- Visit: https://www.evangel.edu/admissions/apply-online/
- Select “Start Application”
- Create an Admissions Portal Account and log in
- Complete the online application available in the portal
